how many hearts does it take ....

and it starts, sometime around 2 a.m.

thats when you lose yourself for a few minutes.

as you stand under the street lights,

you hear your favorite song,

about forgetting things for a while.

but you know it brings back memories.

and your picturing their smile.

and so your emotions change,

as the memories come rushing in.

and your mind is running wild.

how you were perfectly entwined for a while.

the way we seemed so perfect

when we were lost in the haze of wine.

and you said to yourself "thats mine"

then you remember they left.

with someone you dont think is right for them

as they look at you,

and walk out the door.

your stomach begins to tie.

you couldnt care more.

then you walk inside, under the bar lights,

and your too drunk for your own good.

the world is falling around you.

you pretended this wouldnt happen,

you knew it would.

and in the future youll notice,

and it starts, on lifes watch,

that all this wont matter one day.

and youll be repeating the same of offense.

standing under the street lights.

youll lose yourself for few minutes.

listening to your favorite song.

memories.

emotions.

bodies entwined

and only a memory of a

haze of wine.

It is not enough to skim the surface of this life.

we must think deeply, feel deeply & live deeply.

shadows merged.
felt like a bird
felt like the wind.
felt like everything.
